About Us

I had always dreamed of converting my parent’s beautiful Cape Dutch style house into a function venue. After completing my Chef's Diploma in 2016, I could no longer just teach cooking classes so with the support of my parents, the idea was set in stone.

Today, 55 Tulbagh is one of Kempton Park’s LANDMARKS and the perfect venue for your special event.

When the renovation started, the house was empty and needed a lot of work. My husband Johan, who has been my rock through the adventure, did most of the heavy lifting. On 11 February 2017, we hosted our opening function and we’ve been growing from strength to strength since then.

When you visit 55 Tulbagh, you’ll escape from everyday life into a little bit of the Cape, a little bit of green and a little bit of God. Relax in our beautiful garden setting and experience the bird life and trees, along with your great meal, wine and company!

SEATING AND DÉCOR

Most of our functions are currently set up outside on the porch which can seat between 28 and 80 guests.

We have an indoor dining room for up to 10 guests and we’ve been working on the indoor areas to accommodate more visitors during the winter months.
 
We do the décor ourselves or rely on the creativity of a function décor company to transform the space for your unforgettable occasion. 

Menu

You and your guests could savour a 4-course meal, buffet, tapas, a braai, salads, high tea OR plated gourmet meal which are quoted separately.

The cost per person ranges from R150 – R500 depending on the type of event and cuisine. Discuss your beverage options with us.

Since each function is unique, the pricing, décor and food is discussed per event. We’ll give you guidance and work with you to realise the best ideas for your budget.
